Givers give a nickel. Takers take a dime. Thieves demand a quarter.
Dear “Dear Alexa” – If I can teach you a simple rule in life…. People, as a whole, can be categorized into three (3) buckets.
GIVERS Givers will GIVE nickels all the time. Givers like to give, but they also know how to receive with gratitude and then pay it forward. They live on a theory that the more they give, the more they get. May you surround yourself with givers, they are good people who care. They will make you happy.
TAKERS Takers will TAKE a dime from the nickel giver, taking advantage of the giver’s generosity. Takers are people that value what they want more than they value others. Takers will inconvenience others for their own convenience. May you establish strong boundaries with takers and distance yourself when necessary. Takers are not necessarily bad people, they are just selfish, and often times, greedy.
THIEVES Thieves are the worst, they will DEMAND a quarter from the giver – more than the giver is prepared to give. They are only in it for themselves and will even pretend to “care” about another, just so they can steal their share. May you never have to deal with a thief, but you will. Thieves are everywhere. I pray you have the strength to avoid, hold strong boundaries, and, when necessary, fight off the thieves.
