Conversations With "Dear Alexa"Parent's Perspective - Rising Above the Conflict

NOT Traumatized…

NOT Traumatized…

I’ve taken a break from writing anything for this blog. A combination of needing to focus on anything other than the hostile mom attempting to destroy us just so she can feel better about herself… and the former business partner not living up to financial contractual terms. As much as this financial breakdown was distressing, I have to admit that it felt good focusing on rebuilding our business so fully that it took the main focus off everything else.

This is what life should feel like – Proactively building something positive, not dealing with people who only seek to destroy.

Then you reached out…

We literally celebrated the fact that everything presented in court about hating dad and not remembering any positive childhood memories was untrue. You remember everything – From kayaking, zip lining, and mountain climbing with Dad… To your regular weekend routine of Starbucks and running errands. It was Dad who drove you to and from preschool and school everyday… Dad who loved getting out in nature to teach and connect… Dad who planned and carried out every family vacation.

Your mother has been twisting a rather dark reality over the past few years in an effort to exert revenge. I feel pain in my heart for Dad who was gaslighted into thinking that he did something wrong. Now that we know you are not traumatized to the point of needing therapy for the rest of your life, we are thrilled to discover just how well-adjusted you are.

It is beyond wonderful seeing you naturally reconnecting with Dad at an age when everyone needs the loving strength of a father.  The fact that you stood up to your mom when she tried to interfere with your plans to spend the day with Dad took strength and courage – Traits that I can’t wait to see you explore and grow further into over the next few years.

Until we are able to reconnect more fully, we await these lovely glimpses of the amazing person you are discovering.
